My Grandmother

Sophie Ward loved visiting her grandparents, Leah and Harry Binstock, throughout her childhood. She understood how their lives had been shaped by their deliverance from hatred and murder under Nazi rule.  She intuitively understood how both her grandparents relished life but also that they carried a deep grief for those who had been killed. Sophie turned these stories and feelings into these clips, as a memorial to her grandparents. The clips have become a way to remember Sophie Ward. Her sensitive and creative telling of her grandmother's story says so much about Sophie These clips are a legacy of a young life which had so much promise. A life of gentleness, courage and creativity.
